PhoenixNAP Case Study
A global aerospace company was experiencing poor, delayed service and weak support from their existing cloud infrastructure provider. The company was preparing for a large deployment of an internal application that was expected to double the size of their datacenter. Already frustrated with delayed response times on service tickets, the high implementation costs quoted for this new project only propelled their Director of IT to vet alternate providers.
The company’s IT consultant reached out to their TBI Channel Manager for assistance. TBI’s Engineering team was involved from the beginning to vet vendors, perform a needs assessment and propose options. After several discovery sessions, the customer decided to move forward with phoenixNAP’s Data Security Cloud (DSC) solution largely due to the level of support provided from the get-go. The customer had a short turnaround time of seven weeks and phoenixNAP was always prepared with the right personnel pre-and-post implementation.
phoenixNAP’s DSC solution met their infrastructure specifications, server requirements, security, budgetary and compliance needs. Moreover, phoenixNAP’s SOC-audited processes ensured a timely implementation. The DSC solution offered the ability to dedicate resources to their virtual cloud environment by setting it apart from other workloads, ensuring a fully private cloud computing environment. phoenixNAP enabled 24/7/365 uptime for day-to-day critical operations.
In addition to the DSC platform, the customer took advantage of phoenixNAP’s Cloud Back-up with Veeam. Using Veeam replication software allows the customer to schedule snapshots of their vital on-prem systems for retention of their critical workloads. With Veeam and VMware combined, the customer has the ultimate secure cloud network, ensuring always-on compute capabilities that offered greater control, visibility, cloud back- up, plus more responsive expert support across the company’s multi-site operations.
The aerospace company went from zero visibility into their datacenter, not being able to spin up their own virtual machines (VMs) and poor customer service to now having a flexible solution that offers them control and next-level support with phoenixNAP. They’re able to manage VMs, bandwidth and make adjustments as needed with peace of mind knowing phoenixNAP is taking care of the back-end support; maintaining network, storage and VMs.
The solution was implemented by phoenixNAP within a two-week period. TBI’s back-office assisted with the project management pre-and-post installation. The opportunity closed at $8,842 MRC over 42-month term for a total contract value of $371,364.
Forward looking, the customer is now in the discovery phase with phoenixNAP for Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) to replicate servers to their second datacenter, and throughout the year will be migrating remaining servers from their existing provider to phoenixNAP.
