Level 3 Case Study
A multi-national healthcare facility was undergoing a transition of top-level IT personnel and thought it was time to evaluate the network. The new IT Director worked with a TBI partner in his previous role and knew they would be great for the job.
After assessing connectivity across the globe, the partner found a mostly disjointed network. Costs were high, different providers were used for each location, and the network was hard to manage, especially from a single location. After quoting several TBI providers, it was clear Level 3 was best for consolidating and improving the healthcare company’s system.
With network reach in all 8 of the locations across 4 different continents, 99.999% uptime, reliability of a tier-1 network, and a top-of-the-line portal that allows clients the ability to manage their network and obtain system analytics, Level 3 was an easy sell. Level 3 also has the ability to offer network solutions over different access types (i.e. coax, T1, fiber, etc.) and scalable bandwidth on-demand for the facility to utilize during times of high traffic.
MPLS was purchased for seven of the locations and Ethernet at the eighth. Total network costs were $19,000 per month over 36-months for a total contract value of nearly $700,000. As the IT Director settles in to his new role, he hopes to continue evaluating and improving the technology and plans to look to this TBI partner for help with voice solutions.
As they say, business is about relationships, and this TBI partner did a great job wowing their customer the first time around, resulting in new business later on. The same goes for the partner’s experience with TBI and Level 3. Being easier to work with than competitors, while still providing a competitive product, has kept them coming back since 2008.
