Comcast Case Study

Chorus Communication’s longtime customer, a non-profit healthcare organization, was in need of a new connectivity solution. As their patient-base and faculty continued to grow so did associated technology needs. Their current solution, an MPLS network over bonded T1s, was no longer meeting their demands. The older, slower technology was being billed at a high price and included excessive usage fees. Plus, the carrier was no stranger to unannounced service interruptions. Chorus knew it was time to upgrade their customer’s technology.

Chorus has been working with this customer for 20 years so they were familiar with all their locations and expansion plans. Knowing these facilities were in the Comcast Business proximity, Chorus quickly looped TBI and Comcast Business into the conversation, bringing them onsite to scope the project and price out a solution. Scalability was a huge factor for the client as bandwidth needs change quickly in their line of work depending on the number of patients and visitors onsite at any given time. Comcast’s fiber was selected as a dependable solution capable of meeting their adjustable bandwidth needs but also based on its reliability, top-of-the-line infrastructure and dedicated channel team.

The IT Director approved the fiber solution at $21,000 in MRC over 36-months for a total contract value of more than $750,000. Chorus, Comcast and TBI worked together in walking the customer through all contracts and accelerating the deal through to install. As the customer expands their facilities into new territories, they will also need to expand their network. Chorus looks forward to continuing to work with Comcast Business and TBI as this relationship grows, and has proudly achieved Comcast Gold status and has become a President’s Club partner.
