Comcast Case Study

A tech company customer needed to move facilities, split from its primary data center and relocate offices due to a period of rapid growth their parent company was experiencing. This urgent need created several challenges beginning with establishing connectivity between multiple sites. Their previous network architecture had multiple point-to-point connections with various carriers. The customer wanted to take advantage of this opportunity and consolidate services down to one bill.

In need of support, the customer reached out to their trusted IT consultant, Teleconsortium. For years, Teleconsortium had been handling their voice, data, and wireless services, so they understood the customer’s unique network needs. After thorough due diligence, Teleconsortium determined that in order to ensure the best outcomes, the customer needed to increase bandwidth of point-to-point connections from 100 Mbps to 1 Gbps. Out of all carriers considered, Comcast provided the most value for their price.

Comcast Business and several other vendors presented options to the customer. Comcast Business Ethernet was selected because of its security and redundancy. 1 Gbps Ethernet was installed at the customer’s new HQ, primary data center and disaster recovery site. The deal closed at $8,287 MRC over 36 months, resulting in a total contract value of $298,318.

With a back-office team dedicated to supporting Comcast deals, TBI managed all aspects of the order from contract generation to install and billing. As the customer continues to grow, the company is opening offices in LA and NYC, and will work with Teleconsortium to implement connectivity solutions at both locations.
