phoenixNAP | The Age of RaaS: How to Stay Ahead
February 2 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
As Ransomware threat data from 2022 is beginning to surface, we are getting a clearer picture of what we can expect in the following year. Ransomware attacks continue to grow in volume and size, especially as new ransomware variants proliferate. This is partly attributed to the success of the Ransomware-as-a-Service model (RaaS), which enables malicious actors to deploy already developed malware tools on a subscription basis and quickly execute large-scale attacks. In the first quarter of 2022, the number of RaaS and other extortion groups jumped by 62.3% when compared to the same timeframe the year before. This explosion of RaaS groups and their affiliates can be traced to almost 60% of ransomware attacks that occurred in the past 18-months. Meanwhile, ransomware variants have doubled from the second half of 2021 to the first half of 2022. The good news is that despite the increase in number of variants and malicious actors, the blueprint for cyber-attacks has largely remained the same. Organizations now have a variety of solutions available to combat the threat of ransomware. Join us on February 2 at 11 a.m. MST for a live discussion on the necessary protection against ransomware throughout the peak of RaaS. Our speakers William Bell, EVP of Products at phoenixNAP, and Michael Deemer, Inside Systems Engineer at Veeam, will cover the following key topics: – Understanding modern RaaS and its proliferation – The impact of RaaS on your security plans for 2023 – The importance of DRaaS in mitigating ransomware – DRaaS technical features and benefits Sign up today to book your spot!
